This course starts with the generation of the concepts of modern nation and culture in the 19th century. There will be discussed essential cultural achievements and phenomena, and their impact on the society. Students will get acquainted with the main theoreticians of Lithuanian culture, their concepts: starting from the national culture actualization till the creating and adaption of the forms of the modern art, from the first academic and non-conformistic art currents till the creative works in the biggest cities of the world and exile after the Second World War.
