After completing the course the student shall be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
Ø describe the foundations of business planning (1), and the basic components of the business plan (2)
Ø describe the various business and legal forms (3)
Ø report for the most common forms of resource acquisition and financing of start-up
companies (4)
Competence and Skills
Ø prepare a complete business plan based on his or her own business idea (5)
Ø discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different strategic choices in the business
planning process (6)
Ø analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the final business plans (7)
Judgement and Approach
Ø systematically reflect on the importance of a business plan for interaction with stakeholders (8)
Course Content
The course covers the elements that are commonly included in a business planning process, and in the context of the course the students write a complete business plan based on their own business idea, which must then be presented orally and in writing.
