This course is intended for Intermediate II level students who wish to learn about contemporary North American English-language literature while improving their reading and writing skills in English. Students will explore themes developed in English-language literary works through historical, social, cultural and linguistic knowledge. Class discussions will also focus on vocabulary used in typical English literature texts and figures of speech. At the end of this course, students will be able to write essays on themes raised by literary works.
