授業目標 This course is intended to serve as an introduction to day hiking. Course will cover basic concepts and will apply these concepts in the field. Required preparation:Must have ability to engage in strenuous exercise. No textbook 授業内容 Will have completed a series of hikes of at least 4 miles on varied terrain. (3 class hikes plus at least 2 more that you choose.) ● Will have demonstrated appropriate preparation for a hike. This includes the following: 1. ​Selection and use of personal equipment. 2. ​Appropriate selection (based upon experience and skill) of trails. 3. ​Basic map and compass usage. 4. ​Basic evaluation of weather. 5. ​Principles of sub-alpine and alpine travel. 6. ​An introduction to ecology. ● You'll be expected to demonstrate your knowledge of hiking preparedness and apply that knowledge in our class hikes. You'll also be expected to assess yourself in the trip reports. 成績評価 Hikes: 40 pts each x 5 = 200 Online assignments: 40 points Total: 240 points A= 93% and above, A- = 90-92% B+ = 87-89% B= 83-86% B- = 80-82% C+ = 77-79%, C= 73-76% C- = 70-72% D+ = 67-69% D=60-66% F= less than 60%. 授業時間数 1530分=60分×1+240×1+700分×1+410分×1+120分×1
