Course Description: Successful organizations maximize human potential to meet organizational goals and objectives. Focus on leadership, team building, interpersonal skills and applying principles of organizational behavior to today’s changing and diverse workplace.

All students have access to the eBook and publisher course materials on the first day of class. When registering for this course, students are automatically assessed a fee for the eBook and access to the publisher course material. Students do NOT need to purchase a physical textbook for this class. The eBook comes with the course.
First Day Access is a partnership between Edmonds Community College and the textbook publisher to provide students access to the adaptive online resources and the latest version of the eBook at a discount. Materials are available on the first day of class and located directly in Canvas. If students want to receive an optional low-cost, loose-leaf textbook in addition to the eBook, they can pick one up (for an additional fee) at the bookstore or order online. Students who drop before the add/drop date (see EDC Academic Calendar for last day for 100% refund) are not charged the First Day Access fee.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply interpersonal skills for effective teamwork, conflict resolution, motivation, leadership and communication.
Identify strategies to improve cross-cultural relations and overcome cross-cultural communication barriers.
Demonstrate systematic method for making ethical decisions.
Explain barriers to communication and describe how to overcome them.
Apply knowledge, awareness and/or skills to identify and analyze issues related to diversity.
Describe how your personality, mental ability, and values differ from others.
COURSE MODE
We will meet Tuesday and Thursday face to face. The remaining time is replaced by content and activities that take place in a managed online classroom (eLearning class). However, the contact hours are flexible and assignments and communication can take place at home or any place with a computer and Internet access.
