The main objective of this course is to develop language, academic, and critical thinking skills by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful student-led projects on a variety of themes. At the beginning of each theme, students will frame research questions that they wish to focus on. They will develop their knowledge by examining a wide range of resources and by engaging in campus-based learning experiences outside the EAP classroom. At the end of each theme, students will present the findings of their research questions in a personalized project.
The curriculum for Project English is based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning, which encourages students to engage with course materials through multiple means of representation and to express their understanding through multiple means of representation.
