Students that want successfully overcome this discipline are strongly recommended to read about the main global environmental problems that nowadays affect tourism as a global industry such as global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, or the continuous loss of natural habitats and biodiversity; also about the main agents causing the referred environmental problems. So, students will can better understand the complex relationship being exhibited between tourism and the environment, and better approach the way in which that relationship may be efficiently managed. That's why at the beginning of the course readings and videos on those topics are strongly recommended to fill the gaps that students can show at this respect. Additionally, students will use frequently basic concepts pressumely learned in other disciplines as Tourist Land Resources, Grounds of Tourism Economics; Market Structures and Tourism, and Tourism and Transport. Basic math skills are required for simple equations systems solving and derivatives. Making figures to properly represent functions and qualitative relations will be also required. Finally, reading English will help to achieve the goals of this matter.
