The purpose of this course is to help students express themselves in English effectively and confidently in various situations at a basic level. In addition, critical thinking is a key part of the course so as the students will not simply repeat or recite what they have learned. Instead they will use logical and analytical skills to be able to have basic natural conversations that reflect real-world and daily life situations. Also, this course is designed to develop and improve vocabulary, pronunciation, communication, and listening skills through role-playing, pair and group activities with each other, with the professor and with the class as a whole. Finally, as the students will be from various countries all living as international students, this course will also serve as practice of the real world as the students learn and practice cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
NOTE! This course is 100% offline (in the classroom), and active participation is required. In addition, because this is a course at the basic English level, students with a higher level of English ability are strongly encouraged NOT to register for this class.
