• listen to and appreciate different varieties of English
• recognize the way in which English has developed over time and across different geographical and digital spaces
• be sensitive to the role of English as an international language in different contexts
• understand the aim of learning to communicate through and with languages
• recognize the connection between social sustainability and educational practice
