1, Purpose of the Course
This course aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of theatre through lecture-based learning and live performance experience. Students will study the history of theatre, types of performances and staging, and the various roles involved in theatre production—including directors, actors, lighting and sound designers, costume and set designers, and more. In addition, students will attend four live theatre performances and submit written reflections analyzing the artistic and technical elements developing both critical thinking and expressive writing skills.
