Focus class1
• This focus class will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help students work on areas of grammar weakness in writing.
• Students will also produce short writing samples each week to be self/peer edited.
• This focus class will include two major components:
- guided grammar study to practice specific grammar Troublespots in writing
- self/peer editing to develop greater grammatical accuracy in writing Assessment
• Participation/Attendance 60%
• Troublespot Grammar Quiz 40%
Focus class2
The main objective of this course is to develop fluency and accuracy in both informal (e.g. discussion) and formal (e.g. negotiation, debate) within a university setting. You will be introduced to the relevant vocabulary, target language, and conversations of these communicative contexts. We will use a variety of academic subjects and themes to practice these skills.

Also, demonstrate a developing control of appropriate tone, vocabulary, accuracy and fluency in a variety of speaking contexts
