Content
This study module introduces the key concepts of corporate communication in contemporary organizations. The course provides an overview of:
- Corporate identity, branding and reputation
- Communication strategy and management
- Specific fields of corporate communication; employee communication, change communication, media relations, social media, crisis communication and corporate social responsibility
- Research and measurement

JSBE: Lectures in English. Student can choose to take the exam either in English (by enrolling to course YTTP2150) or in Finnish (by enrolling to course YTTP1150).
Course description: This study module introduces key concepts of corporate communication in contemporary organisations (i.e., in corporations, NGOs, trade associations and not-for-profits). Whether you want to become a communication professional or simply understand how organisations communicate in strategic ways, this course will contribute to your future career.
Language: This is the English-language course taught in conjunction with the Finnish-language course YTTP1150 Viestinnän johtamisen perusteet. Both courses are combined and all lectures will be held in English. If you are enrolled in YTTP2150, you will take the exam in English and if you are enrolled in YTTP1150 you will take the exam in Finnish. Teaching method:
Live lectures (contact teaching) at JSBE - The aim of contact teaching is to especially support students to connect with their studies and create social networks.
Recordings of lectures will be uploaded to Moodle after each lecture (e.g. for those who cannot attend)
Presentations for each lecture (in PowerPoint, PDF or Prezi) will be available in Moodle to complement each lecture
Textbook readings are allocated for each session
Final exam (including two renewal exams) in the EXAM system
