Through this course students will get familiar with international discussions on family, care and social policy, know childcare and eldercare systems of different European countries, understand the consequences that the division of responsibility between the family and the state has for well-being and social inequality of citizens, gender equality, intergenerational relations and labour market.

Lectures
If you have been absent for a lecture, you will need to upload a compensatory assignment (absences: max 2 with compensating assignments)
Other weekly assignments: pre-reading before each lecture or written tasks based on articles and other material available on Moodle
Discussion during the lecture: ask questions, take part in discussions of the topics. Also it is a possibility to participate in course-related discussions on the “Questions about the course, discussions” forum available on Moodle
In the final course meetings, you will be expected to participate in presentations that have been prepared in small groups (mandatory)
