Welcome to our Monthly English program at the English Learning Centre (ELC), where intensive learning meets cultural activities. Learn English in class from Monday to Thursday and spend Fridays exploring new places in Victoria, BC. Fun cultural immersion activities are guided by our Cultural Assistants so you can connect with new friends from diverse cultures, practice your English language skills and make long-lasting memories. In the classroom, our TESOL-trained instructors with teaching experience from around the world, are here to help you every step of the way. With the homestay accommodation option, you will experience a special opportunity to live in Canada and speak "real English" outside of class in a safe, comfortable setting.
This program involves classes, activities and resources including:
six levels of general English classes with an intensive class schedule of five study hours per day
practicing and building confidence in presentation skills and written assignments through a range of topics related to society and culture, Canada and global issues (an "English through Themes" curriculum)
workshops on international culture and conversation
access to the ELC Learning Centre during certain months, which provides writing and pronunciation support, and opportunities to practice English with others
free and optional social activities guided by our Cultural Assistants
optional homestay accommodation and meals
20 class hours per week (80 total program hours)
