①Course Description:
Advanced ESOL - This course is designed to introduce students to a variety of features of essay writing, including the role of thesis statements, introductions, conclusions, and various means of organization. Emphasizes controlling grammar and developing the ability to use complex sentences. Students with "P" grade in ESOL 113 may take ESOL 115 but must be concurrently enrolled in ESOL 91, 92, or 93. S/P/U grading.

④Grading:
This is an S/U course. In order to pass this course, you must earn an average grade of 75% or higher. Your grade will be calculated as follows:
Classwork, Participation, Attendance = 30% of grade
For in-person students, I usually take attendance about 5 minutes after class has started. If you arrive after I take attendance, this means that you are late to class. I will mark you as “late” on Canvas. Note: If you are late, please come in quietly so that you do not disturb that class. It is better to be late than to not come to class!
Essay Draft Writing = 30% of grade
Reading Activities (Talk to the Text, Discussions, and Quizzes) = 40% of grade
