Course Description
This course is an introduction to a broad range of business concepts, providing a high-level overview of
practices, theories and corporate responsibilities relevant to today’s global business environment.
Students examine the interrelationship among functional areas and corporate responsibilities of business
enterprises; including management, leadership and ethics; along with human resources, operations
management, marketing and sales, and accounting and finance. Lessons focus on how these functional
areas of business are impacted as the economy, technology, global competition, and consumer decision
making continue to evolve. Students exercise their entrepreneurial mindset by envisioning a new venture
gathering market research to aid in making decisions about target markets, products, operations,
finances, social responsibility, and human resources.
