Course Objective: The goal of the class is to increase vocabulary flexibility and selfawareness by focussing on the etymological structure of words that students deem useful to their intended field of study. This includes word roots, suffixes, prefixes as well as compound noun and adjective structures. Evaluation and Assessment: Assessment for the course is based on active participation in the course. Students complete collaborative assessments to evaluate completion and comprehension of the topics covered in each week. For the final assignment, students are expected to present several of their vocabulary findings from their personalized vocabulary notebook. Content: Each week, students will be assigned a vocabulary topic to be completed prior to the assessment for that vocabulary topic
