Course Description
This course offers an introduction to business environments with a focus on deliverables. The deliverables are specifically: finding a job, creating a resume, writing a cover letter, interviewing, networking, and crafting a social media presence. Upon successful completion of this course each
student will know where to find job postings, how to earn an interview, best practices in interviewing, networking, and have a resume and cover letter on file.
Course Overview
This course is a look into the world of customer service and service culture! Together, we will
explore industry best practices, share background experiences in various customer service roles,
pivot between frontline and management concerns and perspectives, and tackle both hard and
soft interpersonal/service skills.
The goal of the course is to strengthen our ability to connect well with our customers, to contribute positively to our service culture, and to represent ourselves and our establishments
well. We will work hard, value one another’s insights, and each take a unique approach to the various scenarios we cover.
This course is rooted in application, so much of our work and time together will focus on application, practice scenarios, and directly applying our concepts to our work.
