〇Course description:
The initial objective of this course will be for students to learn the technical aspects of working with clay. Clay allows for the expression of intangible ideas, thoughts, emotions, and more. Skill set development will be like learning a new language with the objective of being able to use a new creative language to create a three-dimensional story. This class will be an environment in which the students and instructor learn from each other, as well as facilitate discussion and critique of ideas in a critical yet positive environment.

Create forms employing basic clay forming techniques:
Pinching,Coiling,Slab
Utilize slip and glaze to develop surfaces.Define ceramics vocabulary and the steps required to finish a ceramic piece. Understand and articulate Elements and Principles of art in the finished pieces as well as during critiques. Employ visual language and ceramic techniques to communicate an idea, emotion, or function. Critique and respond to finished work and work in progress. Explore ceramic traditions and respond to their discoveries.
