In this class, we’ll review and practice grammar concepts in the context of writing assignments in a variety of genres. In the process, you’ll learn rhetorical concepts, self-editing strategies, and academic vocabulary. You’ll also learn about academic honesty and citation. By the end of the semester, you’ll be a more independent and confident writer, with a variety of strategies you can use to accomplish writing tasks after this class.

この授業では、さまざまなジャンルの文章課題に取り組みながら、文法の復習と実践を行います。その中で、修辞的な考え方、自己添削の方法、学術的な語彙を身につけていく。さらに、学問上の誠実さや引用のルールについても学びます。学期の終わりには、多様なライティング戦略を身につけ、この授業以降の課題にも応用できる、自立的で自信を持つことを目指す。
