OVERVIEW: The focus of the course is on the activation and development of basic academic writing skills. Course content includes, e.g. the ways to improve your writing independently and the online tools available for this, the structure and types of paragraphs (argument, compare-contrast, cause-effect etc.) and academic texts, the features of academic language, the steps of the writing process, and how to cite sources. STATUS: Elective (AEFIN) course; blended course using the Optima learning platform TARGET GROUP: Students who want to acquire basic academic writing skills in English
