This course explores communication phenomena in culturally diverse workplaces from an interpersonal and group perspective. We will look at such issues as workplace mistreatment, communication in a multilingual workplace, cultural identity construction, relational development or the creation of a shared working culture. Learning outcomes: On completion of this course the student should be able to: understand how cultural diversity may be related to interpersonal communication phenomena in the workplace apply communication concepts, theories and models to frame and address these phenomena critically discuss the ethical issues in communication in a culturally diverse workplace understand that cultural diversity may play out in complex ways, and that culture and cultural differences are not the sole forces shaping interpersonal communication in workplace contexts
