本課程擬透過深具影響力之文學作品的電影詮釋來探討這些作品中所表達的人性觀點與 關鍵議題。賞析電影之餘，我們也將閱讀分析原作，或代表性章節。我們將釐清文化與歷史背景、風格、 技巧等；作品中所蘊含的人文觀念和關鍵議題，如性別、族裔、旅行、跨界、交壤、接觸、生態、創作等 議題也在探討範疇。我們也將比較書寫與影片兩種媒體的特性。 This course focuses on the exploration of great films based on influential literary works. I n class we will view the films and read and analyze the original works, or the selected part s of them. We will explore the cultural historical background, the style, the techniques, et c., of these works, and we will explore the humanistic ideas as well as the immediate issues embedded in them, such as gender, racial or ethnic identity, travel, borderline-crossing, c ontact, ecology, creativity, etc.. We will also compare the characteristics of the two medi a, writing and film.

本授業は、影響力の高い文学作品を原作とする映画作品を通して、作品に表現された人間観および重要なテーマを探究することを目的とする。 映画鑑賞に加え、原作または代表的な章節を読解・分析し、作品の文化的・歴史的背景、作風、表現技法などを整理する。また、作品に内在する人文的観点や主要なテーマ――ジェンダー、エスニシティ、旅、越境、境界、接触、エコロジー、創作など――についても考察する。 さらに、文学（書くこと）と映画という二つのメディアの特性を比較し、それぞれの表現方法の違いについて理解を深める。
