This 5-module Communication Skills course will provide high-intermediate English language learners with real-world content to practice listening and speaking skills that will allow them to succeed in both academic and social settings. Through exposure and response to engaging audio and video from a variety of sources, learners will build oral and aural fluency. Particular attention will be paid to academic and digital literacy, classroom participation and collaboration, and critical thinking. An outcomes-based approach will be taken, giving learners the opportunity to practice in-class discussions, debates and presentations to facilitate meaningful language acquisition.

この5つのモジュールで構成されたCommunication Skillsの授業では、中上級レベルの英語学習者が、大学生活や日常生活で必要なリスニング・スピーキング力を実践的に身につける。さまざまな動画や音声教材を使いながら、自然に英語を聞き取り、話す力を伸ばしていく。また、授業での発言やグループ活動、ディスカッション、ディベート、プレゼンテーションなどを通して、コミュニケーション能力や批判的思考力も養う授業である。
