This course is designed for Intermediate II level students who wish to explore contemporary North American literature in English while improving their English reading and writing skills. Students will explore themes developed in English-language literary works through historical, social, cultural, and linguistic insights. Class discussions will also focus on the vocabulary used in the texts and the stylistic devices typical of English literature. By the end of this course, students will be able to write essays on themes raised by literary works.
