This course is designed for Intermediate II level students who wish to improve their spoken English skills. Classroom activities focus on producing oral messages. The course content is based on general and academic topics, with a particular emphasis on sociocultural subjects related to North American life, studied through authentic sources. This course allows students to refine their use of techniques for preparing and delivering various formal and informal speeches to an audience, as well as rhetorical techniques—primarily narrative, informative, and persuasive—specific to North American oratory. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to produce well-structured oral messages on a variety of topics.
