COURSE DESCRIPTION
This two-dimensional design course teaches practical artmaking skills and effective visual communication. Assignments are based on real design projects, giving students real-world experience across several markets and contexts. Students will practice applying design principles (unity, contrast, emphasis, pattern, rhythm, movement, and balance) to create meaningful visuals. This practice-based studio course will benefit creatives across graphic design, fine art, printmaking, and three-dimensional design, while also honing problem-solving, creative thinking, and project management skills from start to finish.
