Course: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (SOA*105*1)
Course Description and Objectives:
Anthropology is a social science exploring the diversity of humanity through space and time. The four inter-related subfields of anthropology (physical anthropology, archaelogy, linguistics, and cultural anthropology) use different approaches to document and understand human diversity and expression. This course highlights the subfield of human communities across the globes. Students will be introduced to this field of study by referring to the rich ethnographic examples established within the discipline. Using a comparative approach to the study of cultural anthropology by applying and appreciation for the contributions of cultural anthropology to other humanistic and scientific disciplines.
