Urasenke Foundation, Kyoto Japan, 1980 授業目的:This course covers the history, theory, and practice of Chado, or Way of Tea, a Zen-inspired art that has had a long-lasting influence on Japanese society. Lectures will focus on aesthetics and cultural history supplemented by slides, films, and most importantly participation as host and guest in preparing tea. Goals: The goal for students completing this course will be to develop a sufficient understanding and the skills necessary to continue Chado as part of everyday life. 実施方法: クラス講義と実技を2時間40分の授業内で両方行う。week1(例)のように、あらかじめreadingをしてきた教科書の内容についての講義を授業の前半に、後半を茶道のpracticeの時間とする。この他に、mini Quizzesが2回、論述式のMid-term、茶碗づくりのワークショップ参加、Performance at Practice(茶道裏千家の練習)そして Final Examの総合点数で成績が決まる。 例)Week 1 Introduction; Tea in Ancient China; Aesthetic Origins Pre-Reading: 1.Sen Soshitsu XV.
