We will be doing a lot of reading, writing, and discussion to help develop the skills we will need to succeed in our next English course(s). Throughout the quarter, you can expect to complete several readings, review grammar in our English Brush-Up book, take quizzes, and complete homework and in-class writing assignments. We will also write 3 essays and complete a Final Portfolio. All assignments and PowerPoints will be posted on Canvas, and your grades will be updated each week on Canvas too. Every time our class meets, we will work individually and in groups, so please be prepared to share your ideas, observations, and experiences with your teacher and your peers. To be fully prepared for our class, make sure you silence all electronic devices (cell phones, laptops, i-pads, i-pods) and place them in your bags or on the floor. Please also make sure you bring your English Brush-Up book, a notebook, pens or pencils, and a positive attitude! Finally, please note: you will need to earn a 2.0 (75%) or higher in this class, in order to move onto English 101.
