1. Life Painting
This project is an introduction to life painting, colour mixing and tonal
study. During this project students will be mixing colours and learning how
to make the subtle changes of skin colour and tone, by adding small
amounts of white and black to the skin colours - pinks, ochres, and browns.
2. Architecture Design
This week students will create an architectural building of their choice.
With the teacher's guidance, students will take inspiration from an everyday
object. Students will then investigate the shape of the building, how to creatively use colour
and light in the project and the effect it would have in the chosen
environment. Students will demonstrate how their ideas and design have
evolved by making sketches in their sketchbooks, and then make a 3D model
and schematic drawings to support the designs.
3. Museum Project
The aim of this project is to produce a painting,
drawing, or collage based upon things seen at the Natural History Museum,
for example the animals and architecture. The first day will be spent at the
Museum where you will have the opportunity to make drawings of objects
which interest you. We will learn about the importance of using
sketchbooks when researching a subject.
4. Lino Printing
This project is an introduction to Lino Printing. Students will be able to
design their own images to print from, based on images and text from their
sketchbooks or a picture that they like. Students will need to bring along
their sketchbooks or some images that they find interesting.
