Course description:
In this introductory course to Sociology, you will learn to view the world around you using a sociological perspective, allowing you to critically analyze a variety of social issues we encounter in our day-to-day lives. In addition to covering the foundations of the sociological discipline including theory and research methods, we will learn about issues including race and ethnic inequality, gender and sexuality, class stratification, and globalization. Ideally, you will come away from this course with a deeper understanding of the rules behind social interaction, and process the appropriate tools to conduct thoughtful sociological observation and analysis of the world around you.
