Interpretations of the past provoke a lot of discussions and conflicts, that is why very important critically evaluate different interpretations of the past and their impact to the society. In this course main interpretations of the past in Central – East Europe`s discourse will be presented, students will acknowledge main differences between historians analytical works and stereotypes spread in the society. Main stereotypes and their changes which were influenced by social and political, historical circumstances, as well as political factors will be presented and analyzed. Possibilities of mutual understanding and causes why different interpretations of the past exist will be analyzed in the course as well.
