This course will introduce students to the basics of hiking as we explore Devils Lake State Park, WI with overnight camping　and possible side trips to other WI state parks. Students will be expected to walk a total of over 10 miles during numerous day hikes. We will discuss and use Leave No Trace® principals, learn basic map skills, campsite safety, route planning, estimating distances,and safety considerations. Students will be expected to assist in all camp chores and exhibit good expedition behavior. Please come prepared with proper clothingand equipment.
