Provides a starting framework for development of capabilities and competencies to interact effectively with speakers of other languages and/or with different cultures. Stds develop intercultural sensitivity and competence, through critical awareness and understanding of their own cutlure via comparisons, and engaging in experiential learning. By exploring the relationship between language and culture they are able to appreciate how misunderstanding can occur in intercultural interactions.
