An introduction to the fundamental concepts of recreation and sports programming. Topics explored in this course include Development of objectives, planning, implementation and administration of recreation and sports programs. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to successfully navigate a program through concept through the program development cycle, identify fundamental concepts for programming, determine an agency's culture and how programming fits into it; develop programs with targeted populations; create operational strategies; and conduct follow-up analyses. Students will be assessed by tests, participation and relevant assignments.
