"The most fundamental description of what translators do is that we write." —Edith Grossmann This introductory workshop seeks to explore that relationship between translating and writing. Students will be exposed to a broad range of ideas about translation through weekly readings combined with weekly writing exercises and workshop-style discussions of student work. Students will work toward a final translation project suited to their particular language interests and abilities. This course in open to anyone interested in translation. Working knowledge of another language is useful, though not required. All readings will be made available on ICON.
