The course will explore managerial principles applied to organizations that conduct
businesses via the internet. In particular, the course will touch on general economic and
strategic implications of E-Business technologies. It will also explore in more detail the basic
managerial functions (i.e., strategy, marketing, accounting, logistics, finance, and ethics)
when doing E-Businesses. The specific objectives are:
1. To understand key principles such as network effects, compatibility, complementarity, and
standardization, behind the functioning of E-Businesses.
2. To recognize and apply different business models and strategies, across different markets
and organizational functions.
3. To develop technical competences to collect and analyze information used in the strategic
decisions of managers of E-Businesses.
