COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students build a strong foundation in mathematics skills essential for safe and effective practice in health care careers. Number sense and numeracy are developed through the application and analysis of fundamental mathematics operations as applied to various fields of health science. Core skills include, but not limited to, rational number concepts and operations, proportional reasoning algebraic concepts and methods, mathematic modelling, trigonometry and geometry. Authentic case studies are employed to link theory to real life applications and enhance problem-solving and critical thinking.
